Beach Bound

ErasmusbrugTomorrow morning I’m heading to Rotterdam.

It’s an eight hour train ride including a painful 53 layover at the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof—something that used to be 10 or 5 minutes in prior years.

This will be my first time in Frankfurt since January 1st, a record long achievement for me since my move to Germany. I’m actually quite proud that it’s been over four months since I last visited the area—I only wish I could have made it longer.

However it’s all good because tomorrow night I’ll be having a pleasant dinner in the heart of Rotterdam, followed by meetings in a nearby city on Thursday. I hope that Friday I can have some time on a beach in The Netherlands. I’m going to try a new one because every one of my previous trips to The Netherlands I’ve gone to the beach near The Hague—a windy beach that has resulted every single time a new layer of skin being exposed as the old one was sandblasted—a rather different way to remove old skin from my Portuguese experience.

Today was my typical day before travel kind of day: I did laundry (four loads), ran the dishwasher (once), and packed (there’s space in the suitcase, did I forget something?). I also stopped by the Weimar Office for a cup of tea and a “nut-corner” during breaks in the rain.
