Guess Where

Earlier this week I stumbled upon the “GuessTheSpot.com” game—in which overhead views of places around the world are shown and one is supposed to guess which spot is pictured.

It could have been more difficult, but the multiple choices offered were ridiculous—making process of elimination so much easier than it ought to have been. I missed only one spot mainly because I thought Texas was a lot drier than it actually is.

After briefly thinking about it, I decided I could do better, so below I offer you 10 photos of places I have been; made more difficult because its not multiple choice. The good news is that I am only including places I have been since I started blogging—so one could start digging into the archives, if one really wanted to.

Good Luck!

I am pleased to announce that I correctly identified all 10 photos.

  • I know that photo 2 is the London Eye and that photo 5 is the stub ramps for that freeway near the waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa. Both of these places I’ve visited with you.

Photo 9 could be somewhere in Armenia, I’m guessing, due to the architecture of the buildings.

As for the rest, I’m incredibly tired from working on the house *all* day, so I’m going to bed. 😉

  • @Reko: only with my help on chat.

@CQ: you are correct about photo 2 and photo 5… Photo 9 is, loosely speaking, in that part of the world, but it is not in Armenia. Photo 7 is someplace you may have been, but you might not remember it… or you may have only been in the vicinity. I hope the house is looking awesome though

Other random hints: Photo 1 is zoomed in fairly close–and is in a very prominent spot in its city.

Photo 6 is from a city where I got stuck thanks to a malfunctioning aircraft…

Is photo 3 of the Sewage treatment plant at Bloomington?

  • @ed: It’s not, but interesting guess. It’s actually the Torre de Belém in Lisbon…
