  • This video reminds me of the South Park episode that takes place in Hell, where Satan kills Saddam Hussein and Saddam comes back seemingly unscathed. His response when Satan expresses surprise he’s risen from the dead? “Hey, where did you think I was going to go, Detroit?”

OMG! A colleague of mine from Detroit recommended watching this video. I was just about to search for it on YouTube.

    What a coincidence!

  • *sniff*

I don’t miss Detroit, but I feel bad for it too. I used to live a mile from the city limit.

Back in the 1970s, there was a promotional compaign “The best things in life are right here in Cleveland” and I think even back in the 1960s, local TV stations regularly referred to Cleveland as “the best location in the nation.” And of course, more recently, Drew Carey pointed out that “Cleveland rocks.”

    I quote from Wikipedia:

In studies conducted by The Economist in 2005, Cleveland and Pittsburgh were ranked as the most livable cities in the United States, and the city was ranked as the best city for business meetings in the continental U.S.

Nicknames used for the city include “The Forest City,” “The Metropolis of the Western Reserve,” “The New American City,” [12] “America’s North Coast,” “The Rock ‘n’ Roll Capital of the World”[18] and “C-Town.”

    • I have to confess that I have never found Drew Carry even remotely funny–I saw him on “Whose Line is it Anyway” and then never watched the American version again.

      and rock ‘n roll?

      what rock ‘n roll?
