  • Send me a couple dozen.

  • They look(ed) good. Much better than our chocolate chip cookie experience back in May. 🙂

  • They look lovely! Aren’t you going to share the recipe??? 🙂

My family just made some iced for Thanksgiving. About the only time I ever eat them is the holidays. You should make some when you come to Bloomington!

  • Cynical Queer – Sometimes I get lucky… I got lucky with the sugar cookies.

Mateo – excellent idea. We should do it…

Recipe — This is the Fanny Farmer sugar cookies recipe, with some minor modifications:

    Oven to 275F/190C

1 cup (226g) butter (I used, basically, 250g, minus a sliver used to grease cookie sheets). Cream butter.

Beat In: 1.5 cups sugar (Yes, I stayed using American measurements for this.

Add: 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla

    Add: 2 tablespoons milk

Stir In: 2.5 Cups flour, 0.5 teaspoons salt, and 0.5 teaspoons baking powder

Mix, put small balls of dough on cookie sheet, bake until ready; about 8-10 minutes. I found that the ones that I baked on the double layered (air inside type) baking sheet came out much better than the ones that I baked on a single layer cooking sheet.

I might note that this is Fanny Farmer recipe doubled; I added more vanilla than it recommended — specifically it recommended 1 teaspoon, but since I adore the flavor…
