Rain, Rain, Rain

So this afternoon I came home with the full intention of mowing my lawn-however shortly after I got home, the heavens opened up and it rained. The place was soaked, and the pond, which I spent many hours cleaning, is threatening to overflow its shores. Instead, I did laundry-and I hate doing laundry. I also took a brief nap to the sound of rain pelting my windows and thunder striking overhead. There was much exciting weather in Bloomington today.

The rest of the day was filled with amusement. I went out to Ellettsville with a friend, and then off to Menards-where we shopped for some goods that ended up sending us all over the store from end to end at least twice, if not three times. Some of their help needs serious training.

We finally finished shopping at something like 8 before we headed back to my place, in time to catch an episode of Family Plots, and then the hour of Airline. I find the passengers that the TV show focuses on are usually complete idiots: people who don’t understand that planes need to leave on time, that they need their paper tickets; that they need to check in on time; that they need a brain, etc…. The first episode of Airline was the domestic (e.g. US) version focusing on Southwest Airlines, whilst the second was the UK version focusing on easyJet, an airline I’ve flown four times (LUTAMS, STNPRG, and AMS-EDI-AMS). easyJet is a very orange airline-the staff all wear orange uniforms and the planes have an orange feel. We were lucky enough in this episode to get a taste of flight attendant training-on this particular day they were focusing on terrorist training. Naturally the terrorists burst into the room and took over the passengers. Conveniently the terrorists were wearing labels on the back of their shirts: “easyTerrorist.” We were humored.

On the random update note: Terminix comes tomorrow for the ants in the kitchen, and I have not yet heard the frog again. It appears the creature only paid a one night visit. Additionally, I have yet to find any cicadas at my home or in any of my normal wanderings. However, I did see some today on a different part of campus.
