Auto Glass Replacement

I wanted to replace the windshield on my 1999 Saturn SL1.

Safelite wanted to know my last name before giving me a quote, as if that would affect my price. This is the second time that when dealing with Safelite I’ve regretted calling them. The first time was when I had small rock damage and wanted it “repaired.” I still remember that the lady at Safelite was really obnoxious and insisted that they come to my place to fix the problem.

Nice idea, but when you work at a university and your car could be in any one of a half dozen lots, it is not really that convenient. After giving up in frustration, I called somebody local and found that they could do it at their place for about $50 less than Safelite.

I’m going with Glass America–and when I called back, the price was even lower: $160.11!
