  I vote for NASCAR trinkets, anything from a Cracker Barrel store, a Hummer H2 die cast model(s), a home mullet kit, a flowbee, a George Foreman grill, or perhaps fully framed prints of anything that is Generica, but do it in the old Norman Rockwell style. 🙂 Think watercolor paintings of a Wal-Mart with a McDonald’s next door to it.

  Of course, if you want something really practical and desire to gross-out your German friends at the same time, bring back some pork rinds… YUCK!

  Seriously, I’d say a good rule of thumb in your search is to find those nice and portable, but inexpensive things you miss about America and take those back. If you can’t find them there, odds are they are uniquely American, right? 🙂

  Perhaps you can just take back a wad of dollar bills and hand those out. These days, in Europe, you should be able to throw ’em around like confetti. They are worth about as much over there, right?
