So today I went over to the grocery store, where without meaning to, I managed to buy exactly enough groceries to stuff my bag to capacity. Since I was last there (in December, I believe), the store has rearranged itself. Apparently they took exception to sexual oritentaion being included on the website of the folks that made the new cartoon oriented video for the Sister Sledge song, “We are family.” […] With strong tailwinds and a relatively empty plane, we were 30 minutes early to Frankfurt. I was at the Frankfurt Hbf in time to catch the 8:20 train to Weimar. Too bad I didn’t sleep better on the plane. I suspect I’m having a horrible case of jetlag. Today: Bloomington-IND-DTW-FRA. Tomorrow: FRA-Weimar-Jena. Saturday: Sanity. I hope. What time is it? It’s incredibly cold here in Bloomington-and I spent much of the day going from building to building on the IU campus. This fact became immediately apparent Saturday morning when I went to Target with a friend, and the friend, an IU fanatic, headed straight to the electronics department in order to listen to the conclusion of the IU-Purdue basketball game. There we joined about 15 other fanatics (customers and employees) listening […] The actual trip to Bloomington was, for the most part, great. I caught an earlier train, which turned out to be a good thing and learned that my hotel in Frankfurt was terrible (156€ for a sofa bed–high quality sofa bed, but still a sofa bed.)
