Not speaking or reading German means that I neither watch television nor read the newspapers that would inform me about local goings-on.
So it was a great surprise this morning when I wandered down to Theatre-Platz and discovered that it was fire truck day!
Or something of that ilk.
There were a bunch of fire […]
In a book I read this evening, one of the characters ran across a book entitled Migraines Are Only in Your Mind. I adore this book title and wish the book was real… I want to read it!
What are your favorite book titles that don’t actually exist?
My sister arrives in Weimar tomorrow and Sunday has been designated Goethe Day—we will do as much Goethe in one day in one town as we can.

Last night, sometime between 5:30 and 7 I had a major breakthrough: my fever broke and my headache vanished. I was able to finish reading the Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder, which cheered me to no end, since the last time I tried to read it, my head was on the verge […]
Political Pledges
From the Political Cartoon Society Gallery in London.
Last night I went to a Birthday Party for my friend Annie over in Jena–it was a fabulous time, and a girl agreed to get married to me–conditional that we both get to play around.
Unfortunately I am now ill–I’d realized earlier that I was starting to get a cold, but I ignored it. Now […]
