Birthday Parties, Colds and Life Last night I went to a Birthday Party for my friend Annie over in Jena–it was a fabulous time, and a girl agreed to get married to me–conditional that we both get to play around.
Unfortunately I am now ill–I’d realized earlier that I was starting to get a cold, but I ignored it. Now I’m at home congested and wishing I wasn’t.

Cripes! You have been sick a lot lately. Damned German germs!
There’s been a cold going around the office.
I think I got it!
I feel so guilty! I had this cold first and I can’t get rid of it. Not even the cute medicine student who stayed until the very end last night could help it. Damn cold country…
Sure it’s a cold or is it marriage cooties?
What was that marriage thing all about anyhow. You can’t drop that bomb on us without more detail! 🙂
It was just a great proposal and the girl simply couldn’t say no… 🙂
Adam, is she also reading the blog?
Me thinks you are looking for the German equivalent of a green card? Of course, since I am a liberal professor who “hates america” maybe I should consider divorcing Gary and finding a German stud to marry. 😉
I doubt my wife-to-be reads the blog very often. And it wasn’t a green card kind of thing, although that is a major benefit.
Hmmmmm…..
