Crashed

I lay down on my bed to try and finish a book tonight. Instead I fell asleep, waking at 1am. I’ll probably go back to bed shortly.

For what it’s worth, I confirmed the hotel in Bratislava, and hope to do the same for Budapest sometime today. I didn’t get my first (gay) choice, nor my second (non-gay) choice, so I am going for what I would have chosen, had I been going alone: A smaller apartment right on the Danube with a view of the castle in Budapest.

The problem with booking hotels for a city one’s never been to, is that it’s hard to tell how far away anything is. I can look at it on a map and see that it’s right downtown, which is good, but the second a hotel is outside of downtown I have no idea. Plus, since we’ll be hitting gay clubs at night, I wanted to make sure that it would be relatively easy to go home-and being downtown simplifies that. Elsewhere I had to try and figure out the night-busses and the Budapest public transportation web site, while it has a fantastic English website, it doesn’t appear to have an overall nightbus map either in Hungarian or English, which made that task annoyingly difficult.

Anyhow, fingers are crossed / thumbs pressed.

I hope we get this suave apartment.
