Thankfully my birthday is in February, and it is cold out, other wise I would have a sever chilling problem.
This morning I’ve been preparing for the party—but my fridge, which is large by German standards, but absolutely petite by American standards, isn’t large enough to hold everything that is being cooked and prepared.
So… the cooked chicken is out on the patio, along with the chicken broth for the rice that will be cooked more closely to the start of the party.
However the salsa, which requires refrigeration, is too delicate to be stuck out in the frozen outdoors, so I had to rearrange things in the fridge to hold the three bowls (two red medium hot, one cooked (since I’m allergic to raw tomatoes); 1 green chili).
Everything else can wait: vegetable chopping, cooking the beef, preparing the refried beans, black beans, guacamole, and more… it seems like a lot right now.
In random happy news, I woke up really early this morning and decided to surf the web from bed—and I checked my seat assignments on my upcoming trip to Louisville. I was quite pleased to discover that I could snag an exit row seat for my outbound transatlantic hop: unlimited leg room awaits me.
A most excellent early birthday present.
