I looked out my hotel window and watched a fire truck, complete with its lights and siren going being passed by taxis and cars headed north on 8th Avenue.
While taking the subway, the train I was on was stopped due to a “suspicious package” on the train ahead of us. The best part was that the train’s driver and conductor were talking to each other unaware that their conversation was being broadcast over the PA system. Lessons that I and my fellow passengers learned: (a) don’t ask passengers to be patient, thank them for being patient (the former annoys them); and (b) the dispatchers are anal, so be sure you document all your delays.
Where in the world has Adam gone???? 🙂
