So, after breakfast I wandered around and looked at the market in Winterfeldtplatz before heading to the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin .
The museum is a collection of lots of interesting things, ranging from train engines, to boats, to airplanes. There’s also a small collection of vintage cars and a science museum in the mix. And my list isn’t complete.
Basically, it’s a veritable cornucopia of cool for young kids and the young at heart. Most of the exhibits were in German, although some had English labels. I too lost track of time while in the museum—and the damp weather worked to keep me indoors.
Eventually I left, making my way to the American Apparel store, where I didn’t buy anything, although in retrospect, I probably should have bought a pair of underwear. Instead I wandered across Wittenbergplatz into KaDeWe, where I found the men’s underwear department. I bought some—all new and unworn. I then wandered upstairs into the KaDeWe’s supermarket where I could buy a Betty Crocker Brownie Mix for (as I recall) 6€.
A pricey way to remember home—on the other hand, I think I have most of the ingredients to make real brownies.
Something to do this week.
You have the ingredients to make real brownies or “real” brownies?
You actually paid 6€ for a brownie mix? You must’ve really been jonesing for chocolate!
Although, right about now I’d happily pay a small fortune for a single bottle of IBC root beer.
Actually, I never bought the Brownie mix… it did make me want to make real brownies–all I need are the perishable ingredients.
And Chris–I have no way to answer your question without soundin guilty–but I’ve never bought ingredient for Brownies anywhere but the grocery store.
