Void Yesterday, while minding my own business, a group of Germans asked me to define the word “void.”
Try defining it to a group of Germans—my first instinct was to say it was nothing, which of course it’s not since it is the absence of something. Fortunately a German speaker who could define the word in German came to my rescue.

TQE : That Queer Expatriate I'm an American living in Berlin, Germany -- which makes me an expatriate, not an ex-patriot. Before landing in Germany, I've lived in Denver, Colorado; Laramie, Wyoming; Bloomington, Indiana; and Weimar, Germany. If you want to write to me, feel free! The username is elmadaeu on the gmail.com service.

You could have grossed them out and used a different definition of void.
Verb: To excrete (body wastes).
You managed to find a more disgusting definition, that’s for sure. However, I don’t think it applied… and it didn’t come to mind when I was asked the question.
