Yeah, you know how earlier today I admitted that I wasn’t as ignorant about the “fußball” thingy going on here in Deutschland?
Well, uh, I am ignorant.
I had no idea that Germany was playing today until I was on the train and they announced the score over the PA system and someone blew an air horn in celebration.
Right now I’m in Frankfurt, checked in, and ready to fly.
Unfortunately I have to survive the night—complete with a private party in my hotel. The warning signs are here and I hope I don’t have to royally bitch out the front desk tomorrow morning—they’ve said if it is too noisy they have a block of rooms in another hotel nearby.
My next mission: find someplace to eat dinner that doesn’t have a television with the World Cup on.
It’s a mission I suspect that even Tom Cruise would fail.
