Carded

I was complimented last night at the Heartland Crossing Applebees. I’d stopped there with Jay and Murph because State Road 67 is devoid of anything but chain restaurants.

After ordering a beer, I was carded.

It was the first time I’ve had to fish out identification after ordering a beer in a very long time.

LOL! Good for you. The last time I was carded was in an Olive Garden – and Gary laughed so hard he nearly fell out of the booth!

  • WOW! Congratulations! It seems Germans don’t care who they sell alcohol to. I never had to show my ID here, not even when I was under 16. But when I bought two bottles of wine Monday night in Dublin, the cashier looked really angry. I assume she thought I was too young, but didn’t dare to ask for my ID.

  • I guess I’d first have to order alchohol to get carded, right?

Highway 67? Were you headed to Indy? I think 67 turns into Kentucky avenue in Indianapolis. Fast food chains are the future, unfortunatly. In the movie, Back to the future, all the restaurants were Taco Bell, wouldn’t that be hell!

Actually, Ed, I think the movie you are thinking of is “Demolition Man”. However, I don’t remember the 3rd Back to the Future movie, so I don’t recall what happens in it, so you could be right that it was also true in that movie.

Demolition Man, was Arnold S. in that movie, I think your right I remember them giving him demerits for cursing and there was no TP so he let out a string of epithets to use the demerit papers to wipe his ass. Then they were excited about going to Taco Bell, saying the fast food wars are over and Taco Bell won. What a nightmare that would be.

  • Ed, actually I was on the way back from the airport. I had gone up there to pick up my friend at the airport with his boyfriend.

We were headed back to Bloomington at 8pm and the options were few and far between.

  • So…how old do you have to be for this kind of carding to be a compliment??

  • I’m not certain, but probably 30–you’d have to take a poll.
