This morning I headed over to Jena to meet some people from Armenia. It was a splendid meeting and I am still excited about my upcoming trip. The culture shock is going to be incredible though.
On my way back to the train station I managed to notice a vegetarian restaurant which prompted me to call a friend in Jena to see if he wanted to eat there later this week–I ended up joining him, and another friend, for lunch at an Indian restaurant, as well as a long afternoon enjoying Jena sites and the first two episodes of Firefly.
However, between the Vegetarian Restaurant and the Indian restaurant I came across a row of graffiti that I found absolutely amazing. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy which made taking photos a bit more challenging–enough so that I want to return to the wall of graffiti sometime when it is nice out.
That said, I did get a decent shot of my favorite piece of the wall–what I call “Young Blue Eyes.”
God, that is gorgeous. Street art can be really disarming sometimes.
What do you think of Firefly? I really got into that show and we just watched Serenity this weekend. Oh Joss Whedon — come on, get a new TV show on already!
Firefly is actually very sweet. i especially like the music, its very appropriate for the show but not overwhelming.
I like the Firefly series especially the Serenity movie version. Anyway, sounds like you are having fun in Armenia. And yes, the graffiti is gorgeous looks anime-ish
Hahahha my god, I thought Jena is in Armenia if it wasnt Ed who told me that you are still in Weimar right ?
Ed is right… Jena is a city in Germany. I will make it clear when I leave for Armenia. Not this week nor next week… but sometime after that!
I’ll be a Firefly nerd and say I hope you’re watching them in production order instead of televised order.
That site also translates the “Chinese phrases” if you want to know those interesting tid-bits.
I am watching them in the order presented on DVD. The air dates make no sense given the story’s structure.
That’s because Fox decided to throw darts at titles to pick the televised order.
That appears to make the most logical sense. I am moving onto Disk Two today, hopefully I will have time to watch an episode later today.
No putrid excuses!
Just recently I posted one of the “Mach’s Mit” advertisments that encourage youngsters to engage in safe sex. Little did it occur to me that I would have reason to revisit the subject so quickly. I was driven bananas. It…
