It was clear to me, earlier this week, that I had two major options for Friday night.
I could either make my way to Leipzig’s G-Garage where, based on previous experience, I would have a great night of fun, dancing to my hearts content and admiring boys that I will never have. Unfortunately it would have meant staying up all night and catching a train home at 5 and getting to bed at 6:30.
The other option was to go to Erfurt and hit up the “e.t.c. CSD-Starter-Party”—that is to say the kick-off party for Thuringia’s Christopher Street Days; or as its called elsewhere on Earth, “Pride.” However, some of you might recall that I think etc has the world’s worst DJs. However, it might actually have been fun if a sufficient number of legitimate fags come out and an out of town DJ was hired. It too would have required staying up all night and catching the first train home.
So, what did I do to celebrate my extroverted feelings Friday night?
I stayed in and had a Firefly marathon.
What a fantastic television show, and what a shame it was cancelled so quickly. I have to say I really love the show’s music. I like the stories and how they played out, and I liked how the characters interacted.
After my Friday night finished, I could hardly wait for Serenity Saturday.
It’s too bad the movie didn’t do better box office here, but it is a good film.
How did you like it?
I liked the film, but it seemed to me it tried to do too much in two hours–that is to say, it tried to explain the origins of Firefly and the Alliance (background not yet developed in the tv series), and then tried to give most of the characters a clear destination. It seemed like this was all squeezed in.
That said it was an enjoyable two hours.
