So today is September 11, 2006—the fifth anniversary of the Twin Towers attack.
I’m sitting here, pondering it briefly, and wondering if the United States changed any since then; wondering if the nation is safer. I wish I could say it was—but the nation’s president squandered a world of good will on a pointless and futile war that has only served to breed more terrorists. To expound upon this subject any more is pointless—you can read more on countless blogs, news websites, and, if you are so inclined, even “official” “governmental” websites.
Instead I am posting graffiti that you can find in Weimar—expressing Germany’s long lost sentiment of solidarity with the United States.
Adam, how do you feel about:
“Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin
I remember the last time I heard that quote used was during a protest against AG Gonzales
But you can’t hear it enough.
Koko, I’m with Domoni. You cannot hear it enough.
Yep, I agree with you. It’s all been analysed to death. Great graffiti!
