Something clicked in me today—not sure exactly what, but I felt like cooking today, and for dinner I made homemade pizza, as well as pumpkin bread.
The pizza was fantastic. I put spinach, mushroom, and olives on it. The leftovers will make for a splendid breakfast and lunch tomorrow. The sauce was much better this time—the last time I made sauce I used a different kind of tomatoes for the base and it was just nasty and unremarkable.
As for the pumpkin bread, I have no idea how it tastes. It’s going to go to the office tomorrow to be shared with all. The only thing that I can say right now is that it smells really good. I am being a good boy and not touching it.
Beyond that, I went for serious grocery shopping today for the first time since before going to Rotterdam. I managed to drop 50€ between the Edeka and the Rewe—buying peppers, flour, vegetables, chicken, and more. It was really nice to get all of the stuff into the house—including essentials like cans of soup that will be quite nice in the winter when it is extra cold out and I am feeling lazy.
Tomorrow night I plan on frying up some of the chicken I bought—marinating it overnight in Mexican spices—perhaps combining it with tortillas and salsa to complete the motif.

i miss you adam 🙁
Hmmm… Your cake is so tasty!
J: I used some olive oil mixed with a mix of spices called “Mexican Wave.” I bought the spices at the local (expensive) international grocery store, here in Weimar. Oddly the spices actually come from South Africa–a company called “Elements of Spice.”
Koko: Awe!!! It will be a long time before i see you, i fear!
Annie: Thanks! Odds are good for banana bread on Monday.
