Yesterday’s tour of Portugal was not without its amusing aspects. I was taken around by J and M, who have a 2 year old daughter, R. The most amazing aspect of their daughter is that they are raising her to speak Portuguese (her mother’s native tongue), Swiss-German (her father’s native tongue), and English. Apparently the tri-lingualism is working out so far.
However whilst we were at the beach, I had a major Adam gay moment—the surfers came back to shore and took off their suits—one of whom took it off standing in the water at the base of the sand where we were situated. J and M noticed my watching of the surfer dude striping down to his underwear, and later asked me if I was shocked (as an American) that somebody would be willing to strip down to his underwear on the beach without a care in the world.
It took a little while for me to admit the truth, which wasn’t that the stripping to underwear shocked me, but that, in fact, the underwear was transparent from the rear and I was immensely curious if it was transparent from the front.
Much the same reaction I would have had. If I knew the language I’d offer to take him to lunch with dessert on me. 😉 They look very cute.
cq: looks can be deceiving. None of them were really my type, but… wet underwear is wet underwear and I wanted to see!
