Happy…

Today was a happy day for multiple reasons:

Birthday: It was my birthday! I should have baked cake for my office, but because my kitchen is in tear-down mode, I had to make do with store bought cake. Not as good; but I promised my colleagues that I would provide homemade sweets at my Apartment Warming party being held at the end of March.

Contract Signed: I signed the lease for my new apartment today and mailed it off to the owner’s representative—so I the following parties to keep track of (1) the agent seeking renters; (2) the owner’s representative who keeps track of contracts; and (3) the owners, who I will probably never meet.

Another Contract Signed: I signed the contract for the movers to move my stuff. It’s hard to explain but not everything in my current place is moving with me so even though the movers will be here promptly at 8am next Wednesday morning, I will still be able to stay at the apartment until when I leave to hop across the pond.

Cat Sitting: Weimar Colleague asked me to watch his cats starting tonight, and it turned out wonderfully. Both kitties came in relatively quickly. I then sat down on the couch to let one sit on my lap. I promptly fell asleep. Given that I am running a long term sleep deficit, this was much needed. I woke up a couple hours later feeling much refreshed—and abandoned. The cats had retreated to the bedroom.
