I haven’t heard any additional reports about the car accident outside my window—although it blocked the intersection and slowed traffic for about an hour, it didn’t make the one newspaper that was checked.
At the end of my accident report I made reference to an unfortunate irony in the background of the picture. I would have sworn that I had a full sized photo of the background irony that I’d taken several years before, but in the rush of posting about the car accident I couldn’t find it. Ultimately I decided reshoot the photo.
I have to confess that when I first noticed this city-sanctioned graffiti a few years back (probably within the first year that I lived in Weimar), I internally questioned the appropriateness of it—it seemed a bit too… I don’t know… foretelling, maybe.
Weimar actually seems to have a pretty cool program of sanctioned graffiti/art on its utility boxes across the city. I’ve put a couple of examples below.
