Ted – I think getting paid monthly is the norm in my profession. I haven’t been paid anything but monthly since at least 1998. And no, I am not dipping any more into savings…
I think the point of the comment about savings is that it is there for rainy days. If you need something other than macaroni and cheese for food, that would be a good reason to dip into savings a bit.
The idea is to use just enough to get you over this hump, not spend it all. 😉
