Nothing odd about that – TUI and AB entered into a strategic partnership in 2009, and Air Berlin has carried out TUIfly’s German city connections since then.
Actually I would say it is the TUI winglet on the airBerlin 737. Usually if a plane is repainted, I’d expect the entire plane to be painted, including winglettes.
On a side note, airBerlin announced this week that they’ll be flying from Berlin to New York/JFK starting next spring.
That means that Berlin will have 3 airlines plying the NYC-Berlin route: Continental/United for Star, Delta for SkyTeam, and airBerlin for oneWorld (in advance of joining)
TQE : That Queer Expatriate
I'm an American living in Berlin, Germany -- which makes me an expatriate, not an ex-patriot. Before landing in Germany, I've lived in Denver, Colorado; Laramie, Wyoming; Bloomington, Indiana; and Weimar, Germany. If you want to write to me, feel free! The username is elmadaeu on the gmail.com service.
Umm….the TUI winglet on that ostensibly airberlin plane?
