This has been a pretty rough week for me—and it’s not work related.
Instead I have cold that seemed to be mild, but I suspect it knocked me off my otherwise still moving feet.
Usually when I get a cold I have a warning in that I have a mild sore throat. Whenever that happens I batten down the hatches, stock up on nasal tissue, and spend the next day or two asleep.
This current cold started differently: headaches.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons I had headaches where I took Tylenol and long naps. Sunday I felt fine until the late afternoon when I realized that suddenly feeling an out-of-body experience. That sort of disconnected feeling—and that was the first moment that I thought that I was suddenly having a mild cold.
It’s unfair that my body has shifted from sore throats to mild headaches as the warning that a cold is coming.
I have big plans for the weekend. I hope the cold is completely gone by the time Saturday rolls around.
Today, four people told me they were getting colds — and one cancelled a meeting because she was home sick. Two of the four people said the cold started with a headache. Weird.
Most “colds” turn out to be caused by allergies. A headache could be sinus trouble. I suffer from both. The allergies are worse in the summer and the sinus is worse in the winter, enjoy!
Yuck. Get well soon!
I hate that “out-of-body experience” feeling. It seems like it would be cool, but instead it’s always very disturbing. Hope you feel like your old self really soon!
I hope you’re feeling a lot better for the week-end. I look forward to reading about what you get up to! 🙂
Everybody – Thanks for your well wishes. I’m getting better — this was definitely a cold. It didn’t respond at all to my allergy drugs that get me through every June.
