The Same Procedure As Every Year.

Sorry, it’s New Year’s Eve. I’m living in Germany. This. Must. Be. Watched.

As well as a remake for children:

How about a live one, on stage:

Plus the ultimate Lego […]

It is hereby resolved that…

Ah, it’s the end of the year – time for housekeeping, of sorts.

Maybe a resolution, or two.

I guess there are two resolutions that I’m making for 2011.

First, I will continue to go to the gym, every other day, when practically possible.

Although I’ve been planning on starting the gym […]

It’s lonely at the office this week.

While I could have taken vacation days and had this week off, I made a strategic decision to save my vacation days for 2011 when there’s better weather and my urge to escape the office reaches a feverish peak.

Merry Christmas

Once assembled, the toy took […]

Tonight’s Supper: Sweet Potato Soup

Final product shared with Snooker in Berlin whilst enjoying Love Actually.

Lesson Learned in 2010: On Guests

Christmas Markets are Hunky-dory!

I’ve now been to a lot of Christmas Markets here in Berlin: Alexanderplatz, Alexa, Rathaus Spandau, the Adventsökomarkt, and the Lucia Weihnachtsmarkt (at the Kulturbrauerei). At the same time I have a new personal best: I’ve had, so far, four Glühwein at Christmas Markets this year. The best Glühwein so far was at a hut […]

Being Warm is a Mental Game

The past couple of weeks Berlin has been floating right around the freezing mark—most of the time a couple of degrees below, and a few days, a couple of degrees above.

I could be grumbling about this—and, in fact, I was—but I’m not—anymore.

Why, you might ask?

It is because I am going to visit […]
