I like to try to make these sorts of things from scratch. Though my next attempts will be after I lose my excess weight and using pastry flower instead of all-purpose flower.

The cakes always taste good but come out looking like bread with the latter.

The picture on the box kind of looks more like a red velvet cake than a carrot cake. Agree with Ian, very easy to make from scratch.

If you came to our place, we have pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, lemon cookies, and orange cranberry cookies. But now they are almost gone! 🙂

The cake, for a box, was pretty darned good! And yes, normally I would make it from scratch, but it was really amazing seeing it for sale at my local Edeka and not on the 6th floor of KaDeWe.
