Right after I got better, I sort of got slammed with work and I spent the weekend working on a very interesting project, which is prompting a field trip this upcoming weekend to yet another Berlin historic site.
The work has kept me busy—while working over the weekend I took a little bit of time off to go to the gym—but beyond that I was a slave to my computer.
Happily I see light at the end of the work tunnel: my work queue has been reduced to a much more manageable number—one that is much easier to keep pace with. I’ve also volunteered to give a seminar at the office – so I’m splitting my attention between work and preparing a PowerPoint. I have to be extra careful because I’m inclined to use a bit of sarcasm and other forms of humor that do not necessarily translate well to people who are not native American English speakers (although British English speakers usually get my humour).
That said Monday morning I had one of the oddest moments ever in a work place: I went to grab something off the printer, and while I was in the printer room I had an unpleasant olfactory experience—and I managed to identify to source of the odor: a homeless man sleeping under the table.
AHH!! How strange!
