Recently I got a present – an expensive present – and I was able to do most of the choosing of the bits.
Since the information is out there, it’s a Canon 60D.
What I’ve come to discover, which I had suspected, is that I really didn’t know a lot about photography and that I still have a lot to learn. And by “a lot to learn” I mean that I do not fully expect to understand what I am doing before, oh, 2015.
For now I’m just playing and trying to absorb all the tips that are being thrown my way. Unfortunately there are a ton of tips and trying to remember all of them simultaneously is impossible – so I’m ending up with a lot of mediocre picture. Things are out of focus, the lighting is wrong, or I’ve messed up something basic.
Yesterday I decided to play with low-light conditions since it was cloudy and sort of dark – initially my destination was Brandenburger Tor, but I ended up at the Holocaust Memorial instead.
A few of my favorites are below.
I still find low light photos to be challenging…even with a speedy lens.
