My entry was accepted…

Back in December, a call for entries to the Wyoming Monologues crossed my path, and I decided to write something.

It took me a month and a half to get the text ready – I owe great thanks to, among others, Ian in Hamburg – and submit it.

This morning I woke up to the excellent news that my piece was accepted!

The Wyoming Monologues will be performed at the University of Wyoming on March 8th, immediately following a performance of the Vagina Monologues.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it – my calendar is too tight right around then for a mad long-weekend dash stateside.

After the piece has been performed (and, I might note, edited some more), I’ll post the text here on the blog.

In the meantime, this is not the first issue of the Wyoming Monologues. I found two other writers who submitted work last year, one by Gurudatha Pai, an Indian whose first US home was at the University of Wyoming. The other is by Meg Lanker-Simons, a self-described, “outspoken, progressive female activist.”

Check them out:
