Exhausted in Edinburgh Our last day in Edinburgh and we revisited an old friend (the castle), had tea at the Elephant House, and do some wandering in new parts of town. It was great seeing the 1:00 cannon, visiting the Honours of Scotland, and drinking tea where JK Rowling worked.
Everyday day (except Sunday), the 1:00 cannon is fired from the Edinburgh Castle.
JK Rowling wrote much of Harry Potter at the Elephant House, a cafe near Edinburgh Castle. This is the view from the back room. Priceless.
Clark, from Buffalo, New York, left this message high on the wall in the men’s room at the Elephant House — the men’s room is covered in graffiti — everywhere. I understand that the women’s room is the same.
For £2.50, I picked up this “glass” of Pinot Grigo at the nearby supermarket. A pleasant way to round out my last evening in Edinburgh.

I want to have tea at The Elephant House! 🙁
I did not know about the Elephant House while I was in Edinburgh. I’ll have to check that out next time.
I also managed, somehow, to miss the cannon entirely. I was there for two not-Sundays and somehow never heard it.
