So, I bought this particular pair of Bluetooth headphones awhile back – sometime last summer. I have no idea how much I paid for them. However, I paid 15.99€ each for two backup sets at the outbreak of the Covid-19 Crisis because I was worried that if this pair broke (and they will, one day), I would become depressed.
This is because this is the pair of headphones that I use every morning while on my constitutional. Whether the constitutional is a short one – 10,000 steps exactly – or a long one – Saturday I hit 16,000 steps before 0800 – the headphones connect to my phone and play either The Economist or a podcast to me.
Thus, I am distracted from the possible monotony of walking the same streets daily by entertainment in my ears.
This was not the first pair of Bluetooth headphones that I bought – however, it was the first pair I bought that I like: the controls are easy to use, it stays around my neck if I take out the ear pieces (and I cannot lose individual ear pieces), and the battery holds a charge long enough for two morning walks – so about four hours. I also like the magnetic ends of the ear pieces that snap together when dangling around your neck, another route to reducing the probability of loss.

However, these are currently out of stock, so I am doubly happy that I have two emergency backup pair in storage.
During the Covid-19 crisis, I am going to try and make a point of writing a blog post about an object in my home.
We’ll see how long this lasts.
