I acquired this wooden tree when I lived in Weimar.
Thinking back, I believe I bought it at a kids toy shop that featured only natural materials (e.g. no plastic). However, I am not 100% confident about this. My guess is that I bought it for a friend who was having a baby but ended up deciding to keep it for myself.
Unfortunately, I know neither how much I paid nor who made it.
It sits on a column behind my sofa – a background object in my living room.
During the Covid-19 crisis, I am going to try and make a point of writing a blog post about an object in my home.
We’ll see how long this lasts.
Looks like Grimms to me: http://www.grimms.eu
Which actually makes one of the most beautiful wooden toys I have ever seen: https://www.grimms.eu/en/products/product-worlds/building-rainbow-worlds/organic-shapes/1502/building-set-ammonite?c=1353
I think you’re right — they do amazing work. And your favorite toy is stunningly beautiful!
