This is the bottle of whisky I acquired in Japan this past February. I bought it in Sapporo, right at the end of my trip so that I would not have to lug it everywhere.
Based on my banking records, I paid 5,280¥ on February 7, at Bic Camera. At today’s exchange rates is about 42€; back then about 44€.
I wanted to buy whisky local to Sapporo, but if Bic Camera sold it, I could not identify it – nor did I have time to take a trip out to the Nikka distillery, which is about 70 minutes, each way, from Sapporo.
So this is the bottle I have – a gift from Mt. Fuji. Signature Blend. Non-Chill Filtered.
Clearly I need to start drinking from my whisk(e)y collection. Good news on that front: I bought myself whiskey glasses from IKEA, so I have something suitable to drink from and to share with friends.
During the Covid-19 crisis, I am going to try and make a point of writing a blog post about an object in my home.
We’ll see how long this lasts.
