When I decided to write about the backside of the Canadian $5 bill, I knew that it had a bit about ice hockey engraved into the winter wonderland; I had not realized, until after I did research for that blog post, that the lines about hockey come from a book, The Hockey Sweater.
Once I realized this, I ordered myself a copy.
What a fantastic little story.
Roch, the main character, experiences betrayal when he received a new Toronto Maple Leafs sweater instead of a Montreal Canadiens sweater.
I completely get why this is a quintessentially Canadian story.
I get why this book means so much to Canadiens.
As children’s books go, this is adorable.
During the Covid-19 crisis, I am going to try and make a point of writing a blog post about an object in my home.
We’ll see how long this lasts.
