MT Envy & Bad Food

Today was an interesting day—Lot of interesting information about Dutch policy and revitalization efforts (MT probably not envious), followed by lunch and then a fantastic lecture about the Rotterdam Ports and a two hour tour of the harbor, going in and out of the slips and getting up close and personal with the ships. I only wish that MT had been able to join me today for the tour: she would have been on cloud 9.

After the conclusion of the day’s activities the large group headed to Brasil Brasil, a local Rotterdam Brazilian restaurant. It was the second sad restaurant encounter of the day—but I will not savage the first one as they were in over their head when our group descended upon them. Brasil Brasil is a 20€ per entrée kind of place with 5€ per entrée service: incompetent waiters could not keep track of whom order what—from drinks, to appetizers, to the main courses. To add insult to injury, my meat was overcooked to the point that it was painfully dry. I ended up drinking an entire glass of water in the hope that it would alleviate my problems with their food.

I left before dessert: I wasn’t hungry—thankfully filled up by the incredibly good food served during our two hour cruise of the Rotterdam Port.
