Whatchamacallit 117: miniaturwelt mit chili und polizei

miniaturwelt mit chili und polizei

I bought this piece of art at the Winterfeldtmarkt a few years ago – I have no idea how much I paid for it, but it was probably 20€ or less.

The backside has a small sticker indicating it is from Jannis Miniaturwelten, Berlin, along with the URL: http://www.jannis-miniaturwelten.de/ — which still works.

I liked the photograph because of the idea that police would investigate the stabbing or murder of a chili pepper – taking photos, carefully investigating. It is amusingly esoteric and cute. Maybe those are not the exact right words to describe how I feel about it.

The photo is mounted on a nice piece of plywood and comes with a built in hanging hook on the rear side, which is where it has hung from in my kitchen since I brought it home from the market. I put it there because of the food content – it is right above the folding table where I store oddball supplies.

During the Covid-19 crisis, I am going to try and make a point of writing a blog post about an object in my home.

We’ll see how long this lasts.
