Home. Late.

I didn’t get home today until just before 11.

It had been a late night at the office because we watched a movie and because I was working on my huge project—which I am happy to say is closer to being done than it was this morning. I want to have it finished tomorrow, although I might only get 90% finished tomorrow.

Once I got back to Weimar, I decided that I would take a taxi home—the second time in two days. I took the taxi yesterday because I was feeling horribly ill (and I went to bed at 8:30, sleeping fitfully until 6:40); today’s taxi ride was because I had two computers in my bag and a phone call to make as soon as I got home.

I don’t believe that I had the same taxi driver as I had last night, but I had a familiar one—one who knew where I lived. We had a brief conversation (in German) about random things, including the 55 centimeters of snow in Denver over Christmas. He’d seen it on TV.

At the end of the journey, he wished me a good evening and a cherry “until next time.”
