UPS

I recommend avoiding UPS.

1) Due to help I received from a UPS employee, I am getting bills for packages that should have been billed to the receipient. If I had done this on my own I would have been annoyed at myself, but because somebody in a UPS uniform told me to fill out the forms the way I did, I am rather upset.

2) They have given me inconsistent rules about the type of documentation required for international parcels that include more than just documents. End result, I had to go out to their offices tonight to fill out a form I’ve never seen before and that they swore had to be attached to the box I shipped a month ago that contained the exact same objects.

I trust FedEx– the only time I’ve had an issue with FedEx was something that was my fault–but they were nice about it and got the problem resolved quickly.

Not withstanding the fact that I work for their inflight magazine, but another business to avoid would be United Airlines.

Naturally, for my business trip to Madison, WI on Wednesday (8/04/04) I am booked on UAL. Go figure. 😉

United… We love to fly our passengers into a 2 foot blizzard with 6 ft drifts and strand them at the airport for 2 days and not give them their luggage or offer to feed them.

    Or

United… It’s just like a stay in prison minus the bennefit of being Bubba’s girlfriend.
