Covert Behavior

Today I received an alarming Action Alert from the American Family Association:

Dear Adam,

Planned Parenthood, the billion dollar corporate abortion provider, has taken immorality to a whole new level and is using your taxpayer dollars to spread its toxic propaganda.

A new Planned Parenthood promotional Web site (http://www.takecaredownthere.org/), which targets youth and is called “Take Care Down There,” features short “public service” video vignettes which, among other things, promote casual sex, immodesty, homosexuality and even group sex. Please click here to see what Planned Parenthood is doing with your money. For example, one video on this new Web site depicts what appears to be an African-American male teenager relegated to performing oral sex on a white male teenager while another white male (an adult authority figure in a suit) stands nearby giving instructions.

Naturally, being the sick pervert that I am, I clicked throguh to Take Care Down There and checked out the perversion. Unlike the sickos at the AFA, I thought that the public service blow job video, I didn’t spew, was brilliant!

The AFA then offered me the opportunity to write my US Senators using a poorly pre-written AFA template. Unfortunately the rewritten letter was all anti-Planned Parenthood, but since they give you the opportunity to modify it, I was able to write the letter I wanted to write, thanking Senators Lugar and Bayh, as well as Congressman Hill, my elected officials, for supporting Planned Parenthood and all the wonderful work it does for society.

You can read what I wrote in the Extended Entry; click below. If you feel like writing your own letter using the AFA’s friendly tools, check out the Action Alert for “Your tax dollars fund Planned Parenthood’s shocking new Web site for youth“.

This is the letter I sent my US Senators and Congressman:

Dear [recipient name was inserted here],

Thanks for supporting Planned Parenthood with tax dollars!

It’s a great investment!

The new Planned Parenthood promotional Web site
(www.takecaredownthere.org), which targets youth and is called “Take Care
Down There,” features awesome “public service” video messages that discuss
and support dialogue concerning, among other things, casual sex,
immodesty, homosexuality and group sex.

Given the number of dangerous STIs out there, anything fostering this kind
of dialogue is fantastic and ought to be supported.

During the 2006-2007 fiscal year, Planned Parenthood received a total of
$336.7 million from government grants and contracts. In 2008, $300 million
Tuitlx X dollars were given to family planning clinics, and it’s money
well spent.

Seriously, it’s money well spent that will save lives and prevent STIs.

Please continue to support this absolutely fantastic organization.

Sincerely,

Adam Lederer

Ha! I thought all those videos were pretty good thanks for passing those on. I like your template for writing to the congress as well.

Adam, Hi! You rule. I followed your example. Here’s the letter I sent to the two Senators plus Rep. Hill:

We must continue funding Planned Parenthood with tax dollars! This organization is doing some truly outstanding work to reach out to youth on important matters of sexual and reproductive health.

The new Planned Parenthood promotional Web site (www.takecaredownthere.org), which targets youth and is called “Take Care Down There,” features clever, well made public service video vignettes which promote responsible sexual behavior, including a strong level of support for young people who make a conscious choice to pursue abstinence.

During the 2006-2007 fiscal year, Planned Parenthood received a modest total of $336.7 million from government grants and contracts. While this is clearly money well invested in public health, given the organization’s initiative in educating young people, the amount should surely be increased in future federal budgets.

  • Might I ask why you’re receiving bulletins from the American Family Association in the first place? Keeping tabs on the bad guys? I find most organizations with ‘Family’ in the title are just looking for something to be pissy about – usually something that I support or think is cool.

    @cliff: Danke!

@Reko: Your letter sounds better than mine…

@Sarah: I used them to send a letter, counter to their wishes, and then I decided to stay on the list because their tools are so flexible that I can change their pre-written letters into the ones I’d rather send–and then they send it for me!
