Guten Morgen,

some text lost during MovableType upgrade

As Mrs. W will leave the cafetaria at September 30, the MPI is looking for a new tenant. As the cuisine of the applicants is going to be tested before, the MPI is looking for a person from each group who will voluntarily test it. The test will be in October. Please contact me if you feel like doing it. Thank you.

The above is very polite, but the joy of people here is obvious already: no more dill with undercooked potatoes. No more dill with rice. No more dill with dill.

The one thing that most people can consistently agree about at work is that the food in the cafeteria is terrible and that the service is questionable–I am saved since I don’t speak the language, but it’s clear that Frau W is not loved by many.

Thankfully she probably doesn’t read my site.

So there is no Starbucks or McDonalds on the corner to provide delectable alternatives?

Well what can I say… when you grow up and learn to cook while living in communist East Germany, you probably learned how to cook with a lot of potatoes and dill. The good stuff was always reserved for the party bosses.

I guess that sandwich made from dill bread, with potato pancakes covered in a nice dill sauce with dill garnish wasn’t appetizing enough for us? 🙂 At least I assume those were potatoes…
