Ants, Doritos, Money

Here are some random thoughts for the day:

Today was another ant killing day-I think that the Terminix man is making a great deal of progress as the ants seem to be coming out of hiding. Today’s attacks on the ants were made on the front of the house, the side of the house (again), and the back of the house. I honestly believe, finally, that progress is actually being made. Millions have been killed, a lot of larvae have died, and nests destroyed. He also showed me some (temporarily) living termites that he had taken from another house. I think he’s becoming my best friend.

Today I had something I didn’t think was possible: Natural Doritos. It sounds oxymoronic, like “military intelligence,” but what do I know. I guess they are “better” for me as well, having “no preservatives, no added colors, and nothing artificial.” Strange as it may sound, it seems unnatural to have white Doritos. They’re supposed to be that toxic orange color.

Via the New York Times: I discovered Fundrace, a website that tracks political donations geographically using FEC data. I am pleased to note that 47401, my current zip code, had only 10 contributors to the Bush campaign, including Alan and Phyllis Gilman at $2,000 each. He’s Chairman and CEO of Steak and Shake, and she’s a homemaker. Democratic candidates are doing quite well: Kerry, Dean, and Clark all received individual donations in excess of $1,000 each.
