Legal

It’s been a busy week already, and it is only… Tuesday, according to my calendar.

This morning I attended the workshop at the office, then at noon when everybody else headed to lunch, I went to my office, grabbed a few pieces of paper and headed for Weimar because if I didn?t, I would become an illegal, and I don’t want the equivalent of the US citizen’s border patrol coming knocking on my door at midnight and dragging me down the street.

Fortunately for me the trip to see the visa official in Weimar was relatively quick and painless, although she asked me something in German that I didn’t understand and did not answer. Evidently she figured out an answer because 15 minutes after entering, I exited with my new visa occupying two pages of my passport. It was a good think that I had additional passport pages added earlier this summer, otherwise I would have been in a great deal of trouble.

The extended visa is just in time for me to take my trip to Prague on Friday, and, perhaps more importantly, allow me back into Germany on Sunday.
