Being British

I usually do not remember my dreams after waking, but last night I was having a dream about going through immigration at some airport in the United Kingdom. I had just been asked by the immigration official when I was leaving.

“Sunday, unless I get sick,” I said and my alarm went off.

It was actually kind of frustrating waking at this point, as I was really curious what the next part of the dream was going entail. I could only imagine that the official was going to deny me entry since if I got sick I would be using their hospitals and using their tax dollars.

Once I got to the office, I started up the computer and found out that the UK is implementing citizenship tests for its immigrants. In order to become a citizen, one must take a quiz and get at least 75% of the questions correct.

Of course I took the sample quiz.

I got 50%, which I think isn’t bad considering that I’ve never studied being British in-depth, unlike some of the first immigrants to take the test.

How did you do?

I once had a dream I had eaten a rather large marshmallow and when I woke up one of my pillows was missing.

  • Cute… so how’d you do on the test?

I had a dream this morning that I was at the dentist and that my fillings were falling out–so I was spitting constantly through a mesh filter to get the gold…

    and I woke up I was… uh…

at least it was only once.

I performed poorly I’m afraid. I believe I shall soon find myself greeting people at Adsa. 🙁

The one about the saint’s days screwed me up. Oh and the two Xmas ones … and the solicitor one.
