It is with much sadness that I say good-bye, auf wiedersehen, and Kiitos to my friend, confidant, and partner in times of need.
You’ve served a good life, residing in the attic apartment, a noble servant to the many residents of this fine space. I am but the last in a long line of people who have enjoyed their time working with you. Your unusual octagonal design was one of the first things I noticed, but something I got used to quickly.
I could list everything you’ve done for me, but I won’t.
It is a rather sad day, because today, May 3rd, 2010, is your last full day in this fine apartment. It seems that since the Duravit company has seen fit to charge so much for replacement toilet seats, my landlord has decided it is time to replace you with a more modern option.
†2010, Survived by the octagonal sink of matching design.
R.I.P.
Oh how sad and wasteful. Seems wrong that the whole crapper is cheaper than a seat…RIP Crapper McOctagonal
Sorry for your loss.
Is it not more of an “auf wiedersitzen” than a “auf wiedersehen”?
Or to twist the english language, it is a tragic “final passing”… 😉
Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Adam!

When is the party?? 😛 Is the new one good looking? 😛
Just curious. Does a dead toilet smell any different from a live one?
Congrats! Along with my condolences. Jen totally called it, didn’t she? Have you already “commissioned” the new unit?
Dear Everybody—especially those of you who left your thoughts and condolences on the untimely death of the toilet, I thank you.
In lieu of flowers, I ask that donations be made to the World Toilet Organization.
That picture rather disturbs me, and the toilet looks like it was in the prime of its life…..so sad when you lose them this way!
