(Virgin)ia Girls and Boys

Via Fark: Apparently there’s a problem with men having sex with girls in Virginia — young girls. So they’ve started telling men “No Sex With Young Girls,” complete with the “Isn’t she a little young?” web site.

Good thing: They acknowledge that boys can be coerced as well.

You should really go to http://www.virginiaisforhaters.com/ (yes, that is a rip-off of their tourism slogan). It’s nice to know that the state I live in is now getting ready to (on July 1) void all contracts between same-sex couples that bestow any rights granted by the marriage contract. IE living wills, real estate tranfers upon death, etc. The language in the VA defense of marriage act is so loosely written it says that same-sex couples cannot engage in any contracts that give the appearance of granting a right(s) defined by marriage. And here I was being stupid enough to think that any two or more individuals could engage in a business arrangement through contract.

What a bunch of Jerry Falwell fellating a$$holes we have in Richmond…

I’m hoping my gay lawyer friend that is a member of the Bar in Virginia find a few same-sex heterosexual instances of these contracts and sues to have them voided.

    Grumble…

Teenager charged with having sex with minor
    By T.J. WILHAM

MUNCIE – A Muncie teenager is facing criminal charges for getting his 15-year-old girlfriend pregnant.

The teenager, Gerald E. Rodgers III, 18, has been preliminarily charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. If convicted, he faces a maximum 16-year prison term.

According to authorities, the 15-year-old girl contacted the Crisis Pregnancy Center. After a test revealed that the girl was pregnant, officials contacted the Division of Family and Children and the police.

While investigators with the city-county child sex crimes unit were investigating the case, the girl had a miscarriage.

In Indiana, a juvenile must be 16 years old to legally consent to sexual intercourse.

According to court records, when Rodgers was interviewed by Investigator Darrin Clark, the teenager admitted that he had had sex with the girl at least twice since turning 18 last October.

Authorities said the two had sex as many as 20 times before Rodgers had turned 18.

Both of the teenagers were students at Southside High School.

Prosecutors said Tuesday they did not know whether they were going to file formal charges against the boy.

Ok… I think Virginia’s campaign is aimed at a 22 year old buddy and a 15 year old girl… this is stupid

Well I’ll be the first to agree that adults should not be having sex with minors. Though in the case you bring up above I think some consideration should be made for spirit of the law rather than letter of it. If it had been a 40 year old man and a 15 year old girl I could see the point. But 18 and 15 with prior activity before the male turned 18. And how about a girl having sex with an underage boy? I know, Mary Kay Letourno , but still…

I certainly hope society gives up religion soon… it’s ruining everything.
