stuff IS missing

I just updated the underlying software for my blog, upgrading from MovableType 3.2x to 3.31. It was not an insiginificant change, and ultimately I ended up deleting my entire website and starting a new database to hold everything–thankfully the comments were saved!

I did save everything from the old site and I will be reassembing the right hand toolbar over the next day or two–all the links and everything (and trust me when I say that I really miss them).

For a brief while, some things may appear twice on the right until I get everything, including the new Widgets worked out. Soon there will even be tags, but not until I figure out how to make them look ok.

why must you hate me…why must you have a category for used panties!! ;aldskjf;alsdjf

*cries* it’s just a reminder how fragile and sensitive i am 🙁

    hahahah

  • What a great banner ! 🙂

  • I also like the new banner.

What do you think of 3.31? I haven’t decided to upgrade yet.

I used the Tags plugin. It was easy to install and you just put your tags in the keyword field. Does 3.31 have something built-in?

  • koko: i created the category under MT 3.2x when categories didn’t show. I might hide it sometime soon, but for the moment it must stay as there are two entries in that category.

jerry: Thanks! And wow… you noticed it minuts after I put it up on the main site! Wow! (and yes, I had insomnia… theme of this week.)

Domoni, thanks… I don’t know what to think about 3.31 yet. I think that all of my irritations with 3.2x are gone, but that the reasons I disliked 3.2 so much were all reasons I could have resolved had I spent a lot of time reading little boxes.

I shifted from running MT on its own database thingy to a MySQL database (hence I deleted everything; shifted to dynamic publishing; and lost all the internal links since pages are now named differently).

The tags are built in, and at the moment they are generated in a list directly below the entry–a long bullet point list. I put up my first post, added ten key words and thought, “wow, this looks ugly.” I think it’s a matter of playing with the template and eliminating the list format. I’ll also want to make the font size consistent, the tag list appeared in the large 12 point Times New Roman, as opposed to how the blog normally looks.

    Project for the weekend…
