Since 2009 I’ve had a calendar of firefighters on my wall. For the first 9 years, it was the Colorado Firefighters Calendar, which supports the Children’s Hospital Colorado. However, as time went by, I became less and less enchanted with the calendar: it started out slick, but it became slicker. With the main photos, […] A couple weeks ago, just before Easter, I took a long lunch and wandered by Berlin’s branch of Galeries Lafayette, the French department store. It’s actually quite convenient to my office and since I had forgotten to prepare a dish for a party I was attending, it’s basement boutique grocery store gave me the opportunity […] Friedrichstraße! I really meant to blog sometime this week, but it escaped me – but now that it’s Saturday night, I have time. Some how I managed to have something important (mostly fun) to do every single day of the week, after 4 o’clock. The icing on the cake was the fact that my […] Leopold Museum with a man out front. Sure, it would be nice to have a man in my life, but I don’t and I don’t see any prospects for one in the near future (unless the store clerk walks into my life, but I think the odds of that are […] My ability to flirt has not improved since this photo was taken. It comes as a constant surprise to people who know me well that when push comes to shove, I’m actually a huge introvert. Unless I have some plausible reason to talk to a stranger, I don’t. Even when I do have a […] A funny thing happened on the way to this blog entry yesterday: I reviewed Burger Burger. I know why I planned on mentioning Burger Burger—it was the starting point for something else. That something else is the nature of other people. I’d declined sitting at one of the two table that were exposed in the […] |
